The Forest isn't just the trees, or the plants, or the animals, or the air and the earth. It is the whole. The plants feed the Mice, the Mice keep the owl alive. The Wolf and Cougar keep the Deer strong, and the Deer does the same for them. Aphids feed Ants and the Ants clean up after everyone. The trees protect the mountain from the wind, and keep the creek clean for the Fish, and the Fish feed the trees. Everything is connected and, together, the whole is alive, beautiful, intelligent... Sacred.
